Seems like my chamber is cut a little deeper than I like. Or it's due to the spec of the free bore per SAMMI specs (this is what I'm going with). Can't seat them .020 off the lands because they are 2.887/9 COAL. Plus the tips are rubbing on the AICS binder plate pretty good. Thinking about taking a sanding dish on my dremel and try to remove material on the high sides. The binder plate is wavy. When the mag is taken about, looking from the bottom the waviness of the binder plate is apparent.
Rifle spec
Defiance Deviant
6.5 creedmoor.
Using new AICS mags
Round Specs
Base to Ogive when touching the lands are 2.2310. Seated depth is 2.191 from base to ogive, when using .040 seating depth.
COAL after seating .040 is 2.867/9
** I did take a coil off the ejector spring because brass was coming back around and hitting on the back side of the receiver.**** In line to the side release. Bolt lift is normal other than the rouns that won't extracto are just a tad hard to close the last few degrees. I'm not even sue if it is hard, it felt hard. If it is, it's very very faint. Brass is factory fired and reloaded one time, so it would be on it's 2nd firing. I'll go and chamber a round but some of the rounds will not extract. The extractor seems to just let go. I have a failure to eject because of this because when the round does extract the claw lets go and bounces back in the receiver. Odd ball here is that it effect about 20% of my reloads, while the rest are fine. Factory ammo I have works flawlessly.
Using Whidden dies (FL w/ neck bushing) on a Co-ax. It happens on all magazines (AI, Accuratemags)
It was late but when I get home I'll check the following:
Case base to should dim and compare it to rounds that work fine and to the fired brass.
Clean the extractor (m16 style)
