Trijicon Tenmile?

One just popped up. Great deal if you want the mrad
In f class, aren’t most shooters holding on the target for shot adjustment? Are 1/8 turrets really needed

Yes we hold on target for adjustment (we hold rings basically) but having 1/8 is CRITICAL in F class because we need to dial to the water line as fine as possible. 1/4moa turrets make that difficult and usually force a shooter to hold high or low of the waterline which isn't fun.

So the scope in the classifieds would be a no go then?

The MRAD version that is in the classifieds works out to .17moa which is in between but closer to 1/8 (.125) compared to 1/4 (,250). It's not ideal for f class but a whole lot better than 1/4moa turrets. I know guys using it because of the target dot and as long as you're not shooting on a team (where they always make adjustments in MOA) then you'd be fine shooting by yourself with it.

Which model number do you shoot sir?

As I understand it, the large main body is to allow for more erector travel. The more erector travel, the less you end up at the "extremes" of travel which can result in actually being further from the center of the optical lenses which may distort more due to the nature of lens manufacture.

Hi, new to the forum and glad to be here since I read you guys for a long time.

I would like to know if someone can tell me if the Delta Stryker HD 5-50x is as good at maximum power to the Trijicon Tenmile 5-50x. I would like to get the Trijicon, but I have a killer deal on the Delta that can't be overlooked.

Thanks,

Nice review john...
You had mentiond before that the eye box or eye relief was pretty good or more generous
than some of the other popular scopes on the line. Is that still a valid statement after working with it for a while now.

Yeah I'd say it's a pretty generous eye box. Something I didn't mention is the fact that it has a very shallow depth of field in its focus which is a pro and con. It's great because I feel like it's why I see through the mirage a little better but it also means at shorter distance like 100yds it can be just a hair bit tougher to get a clear focus on at full power. It's a trade off I'm happy with but it's there.

I agree with everything in your review John. However these scopes have become a problem for me. I seem to be regularly talking myself out of buying more. The other day I was in at the LGS picking up a sub 1k 22 and trading some stuff that I never shoot (a rimfire low wall) when I spot an HX 6-24 in the case. Yup, you guessed it, talked myself into believing that that scope would not be too much for the new 22...

Fortunately following your review they will all be gone and the temptation for more will be removed. Yes I am weak.

My reason for selling my Kahles K1050 was the same as John mentioned. I just didn’t like the whitewash effect the glass had. If they put Swarovski glass in that scope I think it would be really hard for any competition scope to beat it because mechanically the K1050 is as solid as they come

Are the reticle lines thin like other scopes used in f class (nightforce, Sightron, etc).
No they’re just slightly thicker. The Golden Eagle I was using was a .016 thick reticle and this is a .031 thick reticle. I was concerned but have now found that the slightly thicker reticle is so much faster to pick up on target and my eye strain has been reduced.

*edited above to be more accurate on comparing the reticle.

So you don’t feel it covers up the target/aim point

Not at all and I’m really picky. I used to want the smallest target dot and lines possible but I never realized how much I was asking of my eyes until I got this scope. Is there a trade off, off course, and some people may not like the thicker lines but it didn’t stop me from shooting this the other night in any way.

I am between this scope and the Sightron SVSSED with the target dot. Have read the side focus on the Sightron model may be advantages with its ability to fine tune. But I worry it may be too thin. (Eye sight is 20/20 for now).
I am going to have to a make a blind purchase, so it’s a tough decision.

The "typical" thin line reticle is around .016 moa for some other scopes.
The MIL dot version of the Trijicon dot covers about the same area as the Vortex or NF comp.
This is for comparison.
