Trijicon Accupower 4.5-30x56 FFP

I just ordered one and I should get it next week. It is traveling through New Mexico today. I an going to put on my 6.5 CM.

This scope in Europe was called the Delta Striker and received rave reviews by many . One in the same made at LOWs in Japan.

I took it off my 6.5 CM and put on my Vudoo 22lr because the parallax goes down to 20 yards. I am still testing ammo on the Vudoo. The glass is very clear and the the elevation and windage adjustments are very crisp. So far I like it need to take indoor range and do my final testing (no cross wind).

I bought one and dropped it on my r700 5r 308. I could not get the scop to level at all. The cross hairs were canted down to the left. I sent it back to Trijicon who then sent me a new scope in return.

I have since mounted it but, I am going to try to level the scope using the level on the bottom of the focus group and the rail instead of trying to use the top of the elevation knob.

I have carried Trijicon products for a very long time and am not letting this one thing turn me away from them. As said above, the glass is very clear and I can see feathers on small birds at close to a half mile distance. The mil/mil reticle is vert nice and allows for pretty easy hold over points.

I will update once I finally get a break from work to finish set up and then shoot it.

I am currently waiting on a Bushnell XRS II to show up for the LWRC in the foreground.

I ordered the Trijicon 4.5-30x56 from Midway USA last weekend. They had the SFP MOA version on a clearance sale for $1448. Best price I've ever seen on them. UPS tracking says the scope will be here tomorrow.

I also have the Delta Stryker HD 5-50x56. Bought it from optics-trade.eu last year. Great scope. Absolutely love the Delta reticles. Perfect thickness for all applications in all lighting. Hoping I'll like the Trijicon MOA reticle in the 4.5-30 as well. I know the glass will be good ;)

What method are you using to level the scope?

The MPA stock has a built in level

Yeah...I wouldn't trust that. Does a level placed on your receiver match the level built into the stock?

Always make sure to use high quality levels. Just because something has a piece of glass with a bubble in it doesnt mean it's actually set to proper level.

I use the Wheeler Professional Reticle Leveling System. Can double check reticle on a plumb line. After securing the scope I leave the reference level on the barrel. Then install a level on the scope body and secure it where it also matches the reference level.

Using a set of wheeler levels. One on the rail or in the breech and the other on top of the elevation cap. I saw a video where the caps would give an erroneous reading so, I am going to use the bottom of the turret block as my point of level.

Video I saw was one where the guy was using a bubble level hot glued to a small thin steel bar.

The plastic Wheeler levels, or any plastic levels for that matter, and anything glued to a chunk of flat bar are all junk. Might as well just "eyeball" the scope and mount it.

Get a set of quality levels like the Wheeler Professional grade or something similar.

Bottom of the turret block is a good point, but might not be able to get a quality level on it. You are right about the turrets. Can try removing the elevation turret to see if there is a more solid platform to read level across. I have had to do that on some scopes in the past.

As said before, you can also level the rifle then level the scope by hanging a plumb line 25 yards away and matching the vertical crosshair to it

One of the local gun stores had the Trijicon Accupower 4-16x50 mounted up on a rifle when I was in there yesterday. I really liked the simplicity and thickness of the reticle and the glass was VERY nice. Nice turrets too. One heck of a mid power scope option
