Triggertech diamond

You are correct and thank you for clarifying. I got it mixed up with the other models I have. I do have a Diamond but thought I had read that they come both ways. My mistake.
No big deal, just didn't want anybody buying one thinking it would come with a bolt release. My guess is they don't make the Diamond for a bolt release because they recommend not using one on a factory action

You can get them either way.
When I talked to Triggertec on the phone they said they don't recommend the Dimond model for 700 actions and thats why they don't make then with a Bolt release. If you look on their website they don't have them listed with a bolt release. All their other triggers come with a bit release.

Edit; Hadn't seen your seconds post Dgd6mm

But, here's their website with a TT 700 Diamond with a bolt release.

I was told that the Diamond is not recommended for Rem 700's because Remington doesn't hold close enough tolerances while custom Rem 700 clones do.

I've heard that Rem 700's with RR prefixes and later hold tolerances better.

There is no bolt release on the trigger in the link you posted, and in the info section it says without bolt release.

For a 6-12 oz trigger, it’s really hard to beat the Diamond.

I do wish they had more overtravel, like a jewel, but other than that they’re great triggers.
What is Over travel? I have a Trigger Tech Diamond adjusted down to 10oz. I also have a Jewell at about 8oz.

It’s how far the trigger moves after it breaks. Myself and a lot of others want that in a trigger so that the bullet has a greater chance of exiting the muzzle before our big fat finger hits the back wall and disrupts the recoil pattern.

I replaced 3 triggertech diamonds with bix tac sports. You can get them about the same price if you shop around/be patient, and they'll net you about 18 thou more pin fall (why I replaced them)
Not to derail the thread, but he already bought one so I don't feel terrible about asking. How is the break on them? I'm interested in trying one. I fell in love with the Trigger techs because of the break, and feel zero creep with them.

Bix are great triggers if you don’t mind constantly resetting the sear engagement and cleaning regularly.

That’s enough to keep me away, though. They should really seal them up and be done with it.

I prefer the feel of the TacSport but the cleaning freaks me out - all those little pieces that so desperately want to run and hide.

I have several comp triggers. Never cleaned one. I know guys have problems with older ones?

I believe the tac sport is sealed up. Again never had a problem.

They break like a bix. I will agree with you I really like the TT break - for a "heavy" trigger it's quite nice.

I know it’s not the same class of trigger as the tac sport, but to me, my Dakota model feels similar to a jewell trigger when it breaks. The shoe on it is very similar to a jewell too (mine is the smooth narrow shoe). The difference like many have said is it has a lot of over travel. It’s on a deer hunting rifle and never had an issue with needing to clean it.

That’s just what they say to do. I also know guys that get away with bit cleaning them, but that’s not in my nature. They do make a couple that are sealed up but I’m not aware of one that’ll get down to 8 oz. Let me know if there is one please.

By far my favorite trigger.
