I just put a new trigger that breaks super clean but has a lot of over travel which I don't mind. I've shot others that have very very little over-travel.
What are your opinion on over-travel for the different disciplines? Some say the over-travel stop creates a "bounce" and others say over travel causes the "bounce".
In riding bags these issues may not be as apparent as sling or positional shooting. I know what the tactical guys will croon - "Zero Overtavel" thinking they'll get better recoil control during lock/recoil/barrel time. This is kind of getting into the Free Recoil/Driving the Rifle (maybe overdriving it at times - understandable in some of the shooting situations these tactical comps demand).
My initial question was really if anyone knew how long ballpark overtravel takes to stop or slam to its resting point compared to Barrel Time A hi speed video would be an easy way to see, and maybe this is apparent to everyone else
I would love some real data on this ! If you post times can you list equipment specs or source material? This sounds like something Tubb would have done and come to a point of shooting philosophy
But of course in the spirit of a Forum, share your wisdon, opinions, and anecdotes as well !
