I'm curious. How many folks have tried the 30 day free trial of Wind Reader software?
If so, what do you think, worth it?

Charlie,
I must agree with you! I have downloaded so many wind reading articles that I am sure I am the cause of de-forestation!
But, WindReader works!
On the screen you see a target and one flag and direction pointer for each 100 yds or m. You can use one of many wind patterns or develop your own from observations at YOUR range. The program uses actual ballistics for each bullet in the library (plus those you input) and you can dial in corrections or simply hold off like I do.
I am able to shoot the same F Class scores with WindReader that I get at the 1000 yd range I shoot at. What's more, I have improved my wind reading skills noticeably.
Try it, it's free for 30 days. You can't lose. You can try a couple of my wind patterns called
Sacto RR wind1 or 2. Or for a real wake-up try
5-5.5-6-6.5 OCL@5mph! you will be surprised on the effect of a slight off null wind!

Steve,
Yes it does. In fact, you can make observations at your favorite range and program that pattern as a wind variance. In fact, WindReader comes with some wind variations that will surprise you with their ultimate result!
Look again at my last response above and I mention two variances of wind patterns at my range, Sacramento Shooting Center as well as a variance where the wind switches from 5 0'clock to 6 and then to 6:30 o'clock. This last one will shock you with the result! It answers why you don't want to shoot in head on or tail on winds!
Unfortunately, WindReader doesn't do mirage!!
Great!Steve, you can program the time it stays at one value and whether it steps progressively or randomly.
Check out the information available on their web site.
Thanks!$60 purchase price
After the 30-day free trial, what is the price to keep it active?
Thx
Alex
