Trasding scopes with SWFA

Wondering if anyone has traded in a scope to SWFA?
If so were you satisfied with the dealing?
Thanks

From my experience SWFA attempts to make from $75-$100 on a used scope sale. SWFA is a decent business and they need to keep their doors open, lights on, pay taxes, and pay employees. My only complaint with SWFA is that they had one of my scopes for sale prior to me being paid, so technically they were selling property that SWFA did not own - our deal was not consummated at that point. I did get the payment, so my complaint might be regarded as trivia. We live in a free market economy - so, should you get a good deal go for it and save another $15-$20 for UPS shipping including insurance.

Some good but peculiar or unpopular scopes on the SWFA "Sample List" often appear to be "orphan" scopes being on sale for extended periods but I have never attempted to get SWFA to make a price exception.

Generally, I am satisfied with SWFA and have been dealing with them for over 20 years. You may be assured that SWFA will not cheat you.

They are local for me & I traded a scope in to them once. It was an IOR 9x36 that I bought used here. 1st time to the range with it, the parallax moved on every shot. IOR fixed it under warranty (neither easy nor quick, but got it done). I never could get used to the ocular lense reflections and it was too heavy. Rather than selling it online, I was more comfortable trading with a professional that could inspect it 1st hand. I traded for a Sightron SIII 8-32 and about $200 in ammo. I then sold the Sightron as new. All in, it was about a $300 bath on the transaction. Knowing that they are a business and need to make $, I was pleased. Plus, I avoided sales tax by trading.

I sent in a request for trade in once. It took a long time to get the offer.
Sell it your self … I did and made more on my scope. Then got my New scope Direct from Vortex with Military Discount.
Win ---- Win

I would agree with you on SWFA they have to make money and re sell for a reasonable price.
They stand behind all of the products sell at least in my experience.
This is the only site where you can sell a used scope for a decent price, anyplace else used scopes don't sell for much.

I swapped scopes with them years ago and was very satisfied. The guy I dealt with was a very nice fellow. They were the only ones around that had a certain Kahles scope I decided I had to have/couldn't live without at the time. I sent them my Steiner and they sent me the Kahles. The retail prices were the same for the scopes and mine was used with slight ring marks. Nothing bad, but there nevertheless. I sent them mine and three days later I got a new in the box ZF84-10V2. Win for both of us. I would trade again if they had something I wanted and agreed to the deal. The only thing I can figure is that they had a buyer already on the hook for that Steiner and in all honesty the one I wanted was an odd ball. I missed a bear with that scope.
