Transportation of ammo

Fellas
I am going PD hunting and want to know what do you store your ammo in when you go PD hunting.
Will have several different rifles and loads and did not want to buy 15 more MTM boxes.
Thanks

Well,I'm not going to be much help.I go to Wyoming every year to shoot them and I have about 50 MTM cases that I pack in corrugated boxes for the trip.

You could use ammo cans if you have them.

I use the Ziplock sandwich size freezer bags ( the ones with the slider lock) and package the ammo 100 pieces per bag and write the loading info on the bag, they take up less room than the MTM boxes and are easier to pack. However I do drive and not fly if you are flying this would not be an acceptable packing method.

Tupperware containers with snap on lids, lots of different sizes to choose from.Take some large ones for empties

Midways ammo boxes(buy'em by the case it's cheaper then use the box for transporting) have always worked well for me.

Man you guys have it rough.Around here we get excited if we fire 40 shot on a course in one day :'(

Zip lock bags..(~50 rds/ bag) .. store / carry ammo in cloth tool bag.. Like a soft sided "tool bag" from Lowe's etc..

What is with all of the baggies? What do you do with the empty brass? I use Berry's, J&M, MTM or Plano (I like the hinged lids on the new ones). But I only load one at a time and return the brass to the box. Upside down if I miss. Yeah, I think I have about a hundred plastic boxes, color coded to caliber.....

I use these for .223 & .308 size rounds:

edit, I just noticed they have a $200 minimum order so I guess this won't easily work. Still a good buy on ammo boxes.

I agree with Drover. I have been using zip freezer bags for years, easy to label, does not take up much space. I store them in an ice chest to keep cool on hot days. With the bags there is no ammo rattle, and that can get irritating in an SUV. I use H335, and W760 that they says is temp. sensitive, and have shot in 107 deg. temps with no problem.
