What are the caliber limitations? How much does it weigh

It’s made all from 1/4” thick AR500 plate.......I am shooting a 6BRA and 223.

it’s made like Savage target systems “Snail Design”. I found it on their website and adapted it to what I needed.

500# or so....

I am pretty sure it would handle a 50BMG because the impact angle is very low and then the bullet goes into the spin trap.

Those spin traps are the very best way to stop a bullet for sure, I just needed more target area out at 600yds and couldn't afford the material to build it. I had to rebuild my 100 yd frame this winter and suspended the back plate. A steady run of 68gr Bart's in one place like the point blank rifles will erode almost any steel at 100yds, allowing the plate to move seems to have stopped that for me even with the heavy bullets that they are running in the fclass rifles, but that snail drum is the best if you can afford to build it it big enough to have enough target area, like DBLNUT says I wouldn't be afraid of a 50bmg in his...

This is what we used a few years ago but finding a parking spot at motels and restaurants was a pain. We've since just started bringing our roto-benches and setting them up in the fields when we get there.

I bought this swivel shooting bench at Cabela’s about ten years ago. Since then I’ve modified it several times, You can see I added tires and a handle to pull it around. Put a lighter colored cover on it to eliminate the heat produced by the black vinyl cover. I also mounted an extension to accommodate longer guns. It’s lightweight and pulls quite easily. Recently, I used it in a large prairie dog town, and pulled it about one and one half miles. By the way, I’m 73 years old. One suggestion, use tires that don’t have tubes in them(foam filled). Cactus can ruin a good hunt. Hope this helps.

I've got solid tires on this one from Tractor Store! Have had to change the bearings one time in 18 years. It's been up and down this range many a mile over the years. I'm 84 and looking forward to cooler weather! August half gone so it won't be much longer. Good luck

lots of great ideas,,,it is fun shooting out in the field for prairie dogs or at different rages at home,,,BUT !!!,,dont forget that as long as a trailer/trailed shooting bench is attached to a motor vehicle it is illegal to shoot from it in most states,,,a shooter here in my area was doing this and got a huge fine and guns confiscated ,,,grrrrr,,,just a friendly note to fellow shooters,,,just call me Karen hahah,,,,,,,,Roger

I reworked my old BR pivot to fit in anything that has a Reese hitch..

Unless you have a permit to do so, that most states have if you qualify...
