I've used suppressors for 30 plus years.most people use them over here.ive fitted lot's every hunting-varmint rebarrel i do is threaded for one.lots to gain with one.reduced recoil,noise.accuracy.etc.

I use an Otter Creek Labs Polonium K on a 17 Fireball up to a 22-250 bolt actions. They all sound similar to me but I would not call them hearing safe without additional protection although people shooting my rifles think they are.

I already have hearing damage so try to use light plugs when shooting to save what I have left. Suppressors make the noise very manageable.

Weight and length were more important to me than trying to get that last decibel of sound suppression. I use a direct thread mount to save on weight and length. The Polonium K is 4.8 inch in length and 11.5 oz weight and can be used up to 6mm. I try to keep barrel length at 20 inches or shorter.

Works great for me.

As some have mentioned get a .30 can. It will be the most versatile for you as a first can and also work great on the .22 centerfires. The larger size of the .30 cans offset the slightly larger hole in the bore. I run .30 cans on .223 and up. Actually use one of my .36 can on my .223 ARs also.

Unless you have a good local dealer check out Silencer Shop. They are so easy to buy from when you find a local shop with their kiosk in it. I am a in a smaller NC town and we have one local. Once you put in your electronic fingerprints and take a pic with your phone you don’t have to do the prints again and you only have to update the pic every year. Once it’s all in it’s very simple process.
