Torquing / Tightening Scope Mounts

Purple LocTite??? I have blue and red. Blue is removable with hand tools. Red requires heat to remove. I always use red thread locker on rail to receiver.

Thank you to both. DIP sent a small vial of purple loctite with a note that said to tighten to 8-10 inch pounds. But I don't have an inch pound torque wrench.

As an engineer. If the manufacturer sent you loctite with instructions to use it, I would follow the manufacturer's recommendation.. 8-10 inch pounds "wet" will most like be close to 18-20 inch pounds dry... Torquing by feel will be off by an average of plus or minus 35%.
