I was doing some torque testing on My Old Savage-Anschutz match 64 rifle made in 1965 (60 years old) using an ARA unlimited target. ammo is Lapua Center-X with a lot speed of 25
On the target, On each row has the torque. first number is the front screw and second number is rear screw. if a group showed promise, I shot another group under it. Please ignore the quarter as that is for some of my friends who have never shot this target. each group is 5 shots except the bottom right. all at 50 yards.
Overall, I think I have hit the limits of this rifle except maybe a better scope. The scope is a cheap Mueller 8-32x56 scope with a target dot. This is a clear scope and holds well but the repeatability has a lot to be desired.
comments or suggestions always welcome!
