Torque specs for mounting scopes

I like the Seekins rings and am pretty sure there 8-40 screws, I wouldn’t want to get over 17-18 inch pounds on those on a Sightron type scope.
 
one other thing to keep in mind is some mfg have a variation in the value if you use loctite or not. I encountered this with Vortex. One thing Vortex did recently too was add the torque values printed onto the rings themselves. Some people aren't fans of this, but I like it. Makes it easy to keep it straight.
