Tooling Marks in Premium Barrel

I just received a premium 6mm (.236) barrel from one of the major competition barrel markers. Hand lapped, rifle-cut, etc. Anywhooo, ran the borescoped down the tube to take some pics before I start sending pill down it and noticed tooling marks on quite a bit of the rifling. My other premium barrels have not had this.

Question: Should I be concerned? Will this effect accuracy? WIN_20201216_09_54_23_Pro.jpg

The lengthways lines in the grooves are normal for cut rifled barrels.
I’m not sure about those horizontal lines on that land, it looks like some kind of chatter, but from a machinist point of view, I have no idea how they would have got there.

I returned one for way less than that and was given a new barrel. Mine had not been chambered yet. I see this and feel you did not get your $ worth from the maker.

Typical reamer marks left on the lands. Normally these would be removed by lapping or by honing prior to rifling or by not having them there in the first place. Before everyone had a borescope and could obsess over magnified "flaws" , one would have looked through that barrel, pronounced it to be a fine looking barrel, shot it for two years, and never known there was a mark in it. I'm not saying this is right or wrong, just the way it is. WH

I have a Bartlein that shows very faint marks in a few places similar to the OP’s pic. The barrel was up and running before I had a bore scope and it shoots so good that I wouldn’t trade it for a new one if it was offered.

Most factory barrels look like 40 miles of bad road, and they in most cases still shoot well. Use a bore scope to ck for cleaning effectiveness, or looking for demons when a barrel doesn't perform. Your not likely going to gain any accuracy knowledge on an unfired barrel, unless it obviously looks like a train wreck. LDS
