TL Technologies Action

I spoke with him yesterday and he mentioned that he was waiting on a pin (firing pin?) before sending some out. Perhaps the firing pin from a couple posts back isn't the correct one or was used to keep shipments moving? Anyone else notice cratering on their pins? Can the poster with the issue (@wildchild) include a picture or measurement to determine if his is different or out of spec?

I would like another action without going the remington route. Is this action essentially a well machined M700?

I think there is more to this action than being a well machined Rem 700. Just the bolt face and it’s mini control round feed is enough to separate it from a standard Rem 700. I can’t speak in measurements or tolerances because I don’t have the tools to do so, but it’s much nicer than any standard Rem I’ve messed with.

But it is a Rem clone. It can use Rem triggers and Rem footprint stocks if that’s what you mean.

Received the action today. First impressions very similar to those of @300_whisper . The machining is top notch. The lug measured .230. Cerakote was done very well and the finish had no scuffs. The engraving was a new design that was perfectly executed and hardly visible.

The action sits proudly in two SA stocks designed for the model 700. It'll work, but the safety lever and ejection port cut out will have to be slightly re-angled so it looks natural. You can see the same issue in the pictures that were posted earlier. If I was spending uber-bucks on a stock I would have it cut specifically for this action instead of generically for a model 700.

I put it in the stock and slapped the bottom metal on and ran some rounds through it. Did what it's supposed to do, but further evaluation will be needed to see if the CRF is 100% or like a ruger at about 90%. The BDL magazine had to be slightly cut into to make room for the movement of the mechanical ejector.

@grandslam 4 was awesome to deal with. The trigger is absolutely perfectly timed which is just cool to have at this price point. Every part of this action that Jack worked on is top notch.

Anyone have a MPA chassis handy to test fit? That's the direction I was leaning, one of their new Hybrid cut folder chassis. I need the folder because at the moment my safe isn't huge inside but it's a TL30 safe that I traded 5 cases of beer and had dropped off at my house.

No its a Frozen Fiber CF barrel which is not a company anymore, The barrel blank is a 1-8" twist 6 groove Xcaliber #5 contour then turned down and wrapped. This would almost be exactly like the Carbon 6 feather weight barrel. Its .710" at the muzzle at 27" the whole rifle is only 7.3LBS with the night force and bipod its an even 10lbs.

Frozen Fiber is back in business.

Question to those that has built rifle on this action. Do you guys have issue with extraction. For some reason I'm having problem with extraction in mine even on low pressure load.

Nope I ran a 28nosler up to 3150fps with a 195eol and zero extraction problems. Primers started to get flat but extraction was easy.

Can anyone verify these numbers for the scope base screw spacing

Hole Spacing (From Rear):
  • 1st to 2nd: 0.865"
  • 1st to 3rd: 4.248"
  • 1st to 4th: 5.113"
