tips for working with the 180 scenar

I've got a 7rsaum that I would like to try 180 scenars in. I'm currently shooting berger 180 vlds with 61.0g of H1000, with good results. Any suggestions to speed up load development for the scenars? My thought is to seat 0.005 off the lands, and work up in .5g increments from 59.5, but input would be appreciated.

Gun is a Rem 700 based precision fun gun, with a 1-9" Rock heavy varmint @ 24"

I shot them in 2 previous Shehane barrels and presently in the one I have now. ALL 3 barrels preferred to be 4-5K off the lands. As far as the S.A.U.M. I can not comment>>>I have never owned one. But, in any of the cartridges I have shot, somewhere between 1 and 2 grs. off max is about where I have found the best accuracy to be.

they don't like to be jammed , I run them at .006 off but also found a node at .048 off. your best bet would be in the .005 to .010 off for the load testing then fine tune the seating. just as you have planned.
