Timing trigger rem 700

After placing this problem in my mind several times, Alex, I see what you mean. Although my Nesika, and my
Sako A3 have threaded firing pins. Would a cocking piece with an extended sear length do anything? And while we're at it explain to me what a bolt plug is. Just trying to learn.

If you want to have a play with adjustment why not use an old factory trigger.
You can remove material from the top of the sear to remove cock on closing and this way if it doesnt work out you
can bin it and go back to the original.

Yes, I have done many of them. Generally its not worth the cost on a 700, unless you just want the sweetest 700 you can get. Mostly I do it to custom actions that where not designed to be timed like Kelbly's. Due to the work involved, its not cheap. Unless your smith is recutting the cocking cam helix to do it right, I'd learn to live with the cock on close.

Where might a person get info on timing a Kelbly action... the process?
