Ok.. let me say, that first off, i am only using the 22BR as a reference for discussion. I have read other threads where they were just saying "why not just use the 22BR".. i understand what Nosler is trying to do here with the 22 Nosler.. in essence, trying to get basically a 22BR performance in a AR platform.. i get it!
But i am looking at this lil round in a bolt gun.. with the possibility of maybe using RL17 in it and the 90VLD's.
From what i can gather to this point is, the water capacity of the 22BR is some where in the 38.0-38.5 range and the 22 Nosler is round 37.4.
Along with the fact that the 22 Nosler is basically a rebated rim, there is a chance of more "thrust" on the bolt vs the .473 bolt face. But i have a feeling that it will depend also a lot on what powder you use, if it is a snappy recoil kind of powder, or if it has more of a "push" to it.
So i am thinking out loud here and wondering if this might work!
