time it takes to get your licance

well guys and girls, i have been waiting 7 months now for my gun licance with no end in sight,, it is a joke, but the joke is on me.
I moved from nsw to qld, my licance had expired, by one day, so i had to sit the safety test again,, no biggy, i did not mind doing that again.
I thought i would have my licance back in one month,, maybe two,, considering i have no criminal record and have had both QLD and NSW licance in the past... To top it all off i have my guns in storage that im paying for until they give me the ok 7 MONTHS WHAT A JOKE

Liscense requirements..........

I dont know what the laws are in your state but in Ky the applicant must be a resident for 6 months before applying. If so the the sherrifs dept is required to forward the completed application and accompanying material within 5 working days to the state police. They must issue or deny the license within 90 days. If denied the state police must notify the applicant that he or she may submit additional material within 30 days. The state must act within 20 days. You might want to contact the sherrifs office to see what happened to your information. You may have to apply again due to your status as a resident.

I think NSW stands New South Wales and QLD stands for Queensland. I think he is in Australia. Different country, different laws.
I believe the United States is the only country in the world where gun ownership is a right? Tell me if I am wrong.

Are you talking about a CC permit in Ky or a permit to buy and own a firearm?

Bigcole, I feel your pain. Ya'll lost a large portion of your gun rights several years ago and now I guess the government is in no hurry to give your license back because they don't have to. They do that in the US too but not to the extent that it takes 7 months to get a FFL. Sorry.

yes, those are abrwviations for Queensland and New South Wales in Australia.
Sure am glad we don't have those kind of laws here in the Uniter States,,,,,, YET.

If the current POTUS gets re-elected, I believe our gun rights will be banished.

Bigcole,

Not to hijack this thread but do you or any members have any information to share with me re: New Zealand gun laws, esp. in reference to ex-pats from the states.
This assumes worst case scenario with the upcoming elections.

At this stage I am just looking and playing out where they speak English and are civilized but yet still allow me to play with my "toys" without too much governmental interference.

Hopefully elections will make this a moot point.

Edit: I realize NSW and Queensland are Australia but I believe they may share some commonality of laws.
