Tikka

What’s everyone think of the Tikka super varmint in the 223 I think you can get them in a 1/8 twist barrel which I like what’s your guys opinion of this rifle?

Where do you all purchase your Tikka's from?
Ya that’s a good question where do you buy Scheels carries them but never have them in stock and if you order one takes forever to get one & I hate to order online but I guess that’s the only way if you can find one

Tikkas are my favorite factory guns. I own quite a few. They’re great guns.
Yup,.. ^^^ I've GOT, 3 Tikka's already and thinking "Hard" about, a 4th in .22-250 Rem., 1-8 Twist, 24", SS T-3, Tikka to, replace My, old Rem 700 w/ 1-14 twist.
I want to shoot, the 53 V-Max and or, 55 grain Blitz Kings on the low end to, 69 TMK's - 75 gr ELD-M's on, the High end at, 3,400- 3,500 FPS accurately and THIS Rifle,.. will DO, that !

Bang for your buck, Tikka's are about the best thing going. It's not often you hear of a Tikka that doesn't shoot well right out of the box. Of all the factory rifles I've stuck a borescope down the barrel on Tikka's easily look the best.

I'm not a huge fan of their stocks but they certainly aren't junky and they do seem to function well and considering the price of most Tikka's, swapping stocks to something else still makes them a good choice. Just for the hell of it and as a economical option I'm seriously considering ordering one of those new Boyd's Agility stocks for one of my Tikka's.

For me, my Tikka's are as near a perfect factory rifle that one can get!

I have several. My 223 Rem Varmint Model is a sub 1/2 moa rifle with tailored reloads using H4895, 60 Vmax and F205 primers. While I would prefer a 12" twist for 50 and 55 grain bullets, the 8" twist works very well with 60 Vmax's.

The extractor system on Tikka's is outstanding, the action is smooth, the triggers are excellent, and the factory stock is stiff enough for precision shooting. The vertical pistol grip significantly improved my trigger position and control.

I have the Lite Models also which are equally outstanding. The cautionary note I have is that in calibers heavier than 243 Win, I found it difficult to tolerate the recoil for prolonged bench shooting but that's a personal issue, not an indictment of the rifle.

Man I have been drooling over the super varmint in 22-250. The price though is almost sako prices.

I’m like a lot of the others here who love their Tikkas, I have quite few including a super varmint in 6.5 PRC I just picked up. If I account for them in my head I’m pretty sure I have 11 stock Tikkas, most are newer ones, a couple older ones. They all shoot small including this new super varmint. I also have a few customs built on Tikka actions. Great value, great guns, you can’t go wrong. I’ve never owned one that didn’t shoot, hopefully I didn’t just jinx myself.

I don’t buy many brand new rifles, but did buy one of the T3x varmint rifles last year. Varmint rather than super varmint as I’m not much on threaded barrels. Bell Carlson M40 stock added. I like it, it’s accurate, and the M40 stock is comfortable to shoot.

I mentioned to a friend recently that they are a good value for the money. Particularly on the used market, providing you are patient until what you want comes along.

One of the most accurate ones I’ve had was a M695 in .280.

Most of my rifles are Tikkas. My 223 Super Varmint is my go to rifle for matches out to 600m with Nosler 80gr Custom comps loaded over AR2208 (Varget). Rifle has 2k rounds through it now and still shoots lights out. I have shot matches out to 800m but depending on weather the wheels start falling off somewhere around 700-800. It wears an older Nightforce NXS 3.5-15×56. could use a bit more magnification to be honest but I don't want to mess with a combination that works so well.

I would buy a super varmint, but not at the current pricing. It is just a 223 ctr with a cheaper magazine and cheaper bottom metal, but you can find ctr's for around $1050, about $600 cheaper than the super varmint. I guess the 2 stage trigger and green dye for the stock in that super varmint must cost a lot. I can see a $100 to $200 rise in the trigger and cerakote, but for now I am skipping it
