TIKKA T3X varmint coal

I had a Tikka Varmint in .223, 1/8 twist. The factory mag. would not allow me to seat into the lands, I bought a Mountain Tactical mag. no problems with that one. This was with 69 gr MK. Still had about .100 thou to go. Hope that helps.

So did anyone notice the OP stated tons of powder. Confirms my belief, there is powder but it's not being allowed into the USA . Thank the Communists running our country today.
Check around on snipers hide there is powder showing up in large numbers and limits are being lifted there were very large shipments out of the thailes here in Australia.
we make most of your hodgdon powder just hang in there your powder drought is breaking we still have a primer drought here in Australia .

P.s. just spoke to my local today if I wanted the buy 100 pounds of powder I could buy it

I hope it helps rifle is ordered i hate Australia.
I hope I can receive my rifle within 3 weeks after licensing requirements we do have a local manufacturer making aluminium magazines that allows 2.6 in cartridge overall length I'm just hoping the throats long enough to seat a 75 grain eldm to give me some decent velocity with a gutful of varget .

Just another question my local has 60 kilos of h4895
(In my country it is known as 2206H) has anybody had any luck getting decent speed with heavies in a 223

Cheers

I bought some IMR4895 havent used it yet. I have heard on here H4895 is popular among the F class guys shooting heavys in long barrels. Should work well.

Atlasworxs in Australia makes bottom metal for the Tika that takes AICS magazines. If your throat isn't long enough you can throat it yourself by renting a throater from 4Drentals. Just take it slow as the reamer cuts very easily.

Thanks for the advice unfortunately I'm not in the US so I won't be able to rent that throating reamer we have a magazine manufacturer here who makes a superb aluminium magazine that'll do a cartridge overall length of 2.6 in they are milled out of a piece of aluminium and very well made .

Yes,so much so that I wouldn’t bother with Varget (2208).I am using it with 90 grain Berger VLD’s,my son uses it as well.Have a look at the posts by Ned Ludd on this forum. My reloading for 223 for many years has been with mostly 80 grain projectiles ,2206H has worked all the time. The only thing with 80 grain or heavier projectiles in the 223 is the throat depth.

Thank you very much looks like I'll be going to get a 8 pound jug of it I'll put it with the other 56 pounds of powder we have if it doesn't work that's a good excuse to buy a 308 or something haven't got one of them atm.
The only thing we are struggling with here at the moment is primers .
