Tikka Super Varmint

I picked up my long sought after Tikka T3X SV in .223 last weekend. Put a trigger spring in it and mounted a Leupold. Went to the range yesterday for my standard shoot and clean, shoot and clean barrel break in while putting the scope on paper. I will be loading 50, 55 and 60 grain Vmax test loads this weekend and hope for a calm day for group shooting next week. Fire away if you have any questions about the SV.

I have one being delivered in 6.5 cm next week, snuck up on one nib at gunbroker for 1175. I couldn't believe it, can't what to do the same with what your doing.
How's the bottom metal? Was thinking about replacing with one made by Mountain tactical, but thought I'd see what the factory looked like first, didn't want to jump the gun

You got a screaming deal at that price because my dealer cost was $1380. The bottom metal is excellent IMO - nothing to change there. I have a professional inch pound torque wrench that measures in and out and my stock screws were 60 inch pounds from the factory. I did replace my trigger spring and the pull is now 1.5 lbs. Mine has the 23.7” barrel and it is somewhat front heavy but handles well on bench bags.

I have one of the new super varmint in 6.5 PRC, nothing negative to say about it. I’m a Tikka fan anyways and this rifle shoots like most do, 5 shots .5 are the norm with 143 ELDXs and Berger 140s. I do think they are priced a little high but I like everything about them.

Pick mine up today, love it

The Titka triggers are great. You can adjust them down to about 2 1/2 pounds, but if you want lighter tikka offers a simple replacement Spring. You can adjust them down to about 12 oz.
You can buy the Spring from eBay. For about $18 shipped

ok thanks a lot I would think 2 1/2 pounds is good for hunting

You can get the lite trigger spring from Mountain Tactical and a few other places. Tikka does not offer a replacement spring of a lesser poundage. Spring brought my SV down to 1.5 pounds.

I just got a Super Varmint in .223. It's taking me a little while to get used to the trigger but I'm easily grouping under 1" at 100 yards with my mass produced reloads.

Spare mags (6 round) are available at GunMagWarehouse and Midway at this time.
