Just sharing my new gun purchase and targets. I ordered this wanting a different deer rifle, and what I got was probably the most factory accurate rifle I have shot!! Shots 4,5,6 adjust scope then 7,8,9. Factory Hornady 143 ELDX Precision Hunter. Could not be happier!!

Very nice shooting. I have both 130 and 140's on hand so fingers crossed I find something it likes as much as the above.

Looks like a typical Tikka. You shoot one and they sell themselves. By far the best factory made rifles out there.
The truth right there. I have a 223 t3x I'm building into a match rifle and bought a factory second mdt ACC on black Friday. I went back on their site and realized I actually liked the Tac21 better, but couldn't cancel my order because it's a factory second. I said screw it and placed a second order because I'll probably be buying another Tikka eventually, lol.

My only gripe with Tikka is their horrible plastic stocks! Ok - they "work", but restocking with wood or chassis improves them even more. My FTR rifle does have a Tru Flight barrel, which came with the "pre-loved" gun, but I put it into a GRS Bifrost from day 1. Still has the factory trigger. Shoots real well. The T3 "sporter" rifles are worth looking for, as they had an excellent laminated wood stock. The latest UPR with it's carbon/resin stock also looks fine. 'Tis a shame that the barrels are a tad short though.

The upgrade path is to Sako. That's when you get into the fine wood stocks.

I LOVE my T3X TAC A1. I am doing load development with it now, and so far, it likes the 140 ELD-M's with 42.8 gr of H4350 and CCI 450 primers in Alpha or Lapua SRP brass. Velocities in the 24" barrel are in the mid-2700s, so I'm pleased with that. Small groups (5 shots and fewer) can be sub-quarter minute, but to tell what a gun really shoots, you need to shoot 20 to 30 shots. Then and only then will you have an accurate picture of what your gun is capable of. It also helps manage your expectations. Great shooting!

And don't forget their crap magazines absolute rubbish I cannot believe such a good rifle can have one of the worst magazines in the business

I’m a huge Tikka fan, never had one that didn’t shoot. My CTR is a 20” which works good with a suppressor, it’s a creed. Shoots great, I use it as loner when taking friends and family out on hunts and shoots. I left it stock, it works as is, no reason to mess with it. I have a few T3 lightweights and just ordered one of the Tikka varmint rifles in 6.5 PRC. I also like their actions for builds when I’m not wanting to drop 1500+ on an action. Zack at Old Domion Rifles is getting ready to put together a 20-222 & 22-204 both are gonna be built on Tikka actions.

Yes - I forgot. I have a 3D printed sled in mine, as I only use it for FTR.
A better magazine and bottom metal is produced in Australia,

Nothing wrong with Tikka's.very good quality.probably the best value for money.lots of aftermarket accessories for them.good rifle to work on.ive built lots of rifles on Tikka actions from 55's to T3's and all inbetween.

The most accurate factory rifle I have ever owned is my T3 light in .223. Absolutely nothing done to it, other than adjust the factory trigger lower. No bedding or anything else. Crazy rifle shoots in the 3/8 " range from a bipod, laying in the dirt! Many critters have been sent to the promise land with this rifle. Lol! And no, it is not for sale!

I actually don't mind the magazine.

Granted, I am mostly a range shooter and hunter, but I cannot stand AICS mags because in most cases they are so loose in the bottom metal (side to side) that they cannot be taken into the woods. I am sure this is so that they drop right out, but metal to metal is never a good sound in the woods.
The poly factory mags are tough as well. I have dropped one out of my vest and run it over with my truck and it got scratched up, but didn't break. Granted, it wasn't on rocky ground, but it wasn't exactly soft either.
Another reason is that when it is cold out, I hold the gun at it's balance point and not have that cold transferred through my glove.
The final reason is that they are easy to modify. If I need a few more thousandths of length for a load, it is pretty easy to open them up with a round file. Metal mags can be done as well, but the poly is much easier to work with.
