tightening the group

Bags can get too slick. It has a weird breakaway to it that you can feel if you slide the rifle slowly too. I prefer plain leather with pma bag wax or baby powder- cordura comes in second with the same coating.
Hummm
Mine slides back forth quite easily I'll keep an eye out for that as sometimes it's tough to identify were vertical is coming from , load, techniques etc.
thx

5 shots cover with a dime, i don't even know if i can guarantee that with my 6BR, good chance, this gun has the factory barrel in 6.5cm heavy barrel Savage. now there are times i might cover 3 shots with a dime, now i say times, but not 5, not yet, barrel has around 2000 rounds thru it, guess i have to order a new Criterion shortly, if my local gunsmith had the 6.5 cm reamer, i would order up a Bartlien blank and have him chamber it, or if i want to rent the reamer i can do it myself. but i never rented a reamer before, not sure i want to chance it. that is why i am leaning towards the prechambered barrel which criterion offers

Wow 2000 rounds! I'd say be happy it's shooting as well as it is. A custom barrel with a freebore to match your favorite bullet will shoot circles around that factory barrel.

Are you stuck on the bullet.? If not trade for 140 Hybrids and keep going out from .020 to .070 until you go south twice, backup and do the binary thing within 10's. It is by far the most accurate bullet when seated right.
would that be a Berger bullet

i sure hope the Criterion will do better than what i have now.

It's a lofty goal for sure, I'm not there yet - maybe someday.I have however witnessed the Creedmoor lay out some damn nice groups .

On your trigger system can you perhaps change your spring to reduce some pull?
Dusty made a good point that I'm looking into is the bag style and density.
Seems like there's always something

I sometimes think that I myself do too much testing. But IMO it's nice to have as much info on loads as we can for all of our data. Good Luck Larry

I'm happy when 5-10 shots at 200yds can be covered with a quarter. The rest is on me!
Very well said LWP. Use all the tools you have at your disposal, wind flags, wind meter, chrono, shooting technique, etc!
