Talk to Alex, he makes a thumbhole F class the is great looking and feels great. I bought a blue and grey laqminate that I am inletting right now for a Rem 700. The gun called the Bat mobile the stock was made by him.

I have a masterclass thumbhole and while it is a great open class stock I feel it would be to heavy for an ftr stock without alot of shaving. If you are set on a thumbhole stock I would check out manners t5.

Yeah I've got one of those masterclass stocks and it is very very heavy even for an open gun. Comfortable, well made and well proportioned but heavy.

Out of curiosity what's colors did you do?

Red and grey/black. With 13 coats of 2 pack auto clear it's very tough and looks amazing!

Thanks for the pic, your rifle looks great. Those colors really stand out.
Did you buy the stock completely finished or did you finish it your self.
How about some specs on the rifle, and do you compete with it?
After I finish the blue and grey one I have I am going to have to get one of those.

Thanks Tarey I got the stock from Alex unfinished and partly inleted. I built the rifle and finished the stock. The stock i finished in an automotive clear coat with about 10 coats and polished all of the metal. The stock is a left hand but the Barnard P action is a righthand. Barrel is a straight 1.25 30in Bartlein in a straight 284win. Just stuck the silver nightforce scope on there but I think I like the black version better so the silver may come off and the black goes back on. I try to complete in fclass with it but am not always successful so i try to at least look good, may have try a fancy mirage shield.

That gun looks amazing.
I was wondering what kind or brand of auto clear you guys used on your stocks. I Devcon bedded mine and will be clearing it shortly. I just need to get a pad for the back.

I used Matrix clearcoat on this rifle but have use several different ones such as HOC and ppg and have not had trouble with any of them. My local paint shop carries matrix so I have been using that the last couple of years and have been happy with it.
