How are you measuring this?

With a tenth indicator inside the bore
Ive noticed a once round bore go out of round with too much pressure on the outside, it’s not much but it’s there

To get spuds that fit the bore better than 0.001" pin gauge increments, some guys make their own, but I buy in between pin gauges from MSC

I put the tenths Interapid test indicator on the carriage and move the carriage to check for the pin being concentric and parallel with the lathe spindle. This assumes the ways are parallel with the spindle.

Adam Booth at 28:00 makes a 3 screw spider, but uses a bushing.

Clark, That is why I have Deltronic pins in .0001 increments for each bore size I chamber and also to check the IDs of my carbide neck bushings.
