threading rem 700 bolt handle

who will do a good job at threading a bolt handle for me it came off of a la rem ti mountion rifle also a would like to do away with the j-lock shroud would like a fiarly quick turn around let me know if any of you are interested or knows agood one to do it thanks

That PTG tool is really neat. Would a 12X36 lathe be able to swing a long action Rem 700 bolt?

absolutely. especially if its a gap bed with a removable piece right under the headstock.Call dave kiff and he can tell you the scoop immediately.He makes a bolt for remmys and it is a decent price.His tooling is top notch.

Yes , The unit will work with all bolts. I use a small copper shim on under size Sako and the small ruger bolts . Its odd but some Rugers bolt sizes are so large they bolt up with out a shim. I think Ruger changed bolt size a few years back. Could some one let us know if that is the case, I and others would like to know. Thanks Dave

It will work in a 12X36 lathe. Don't take the gap out, and if you do, forget putting it back in.
