This is why I LOVE the .308!

Yesterday I put my .308 barrel on my rifle to play with it for a while. It's a Bartlein 2B contour finished at 24" and I had not yet shot it. I had a bunch of ammo developed for another rifle loaded up. It had shot extremely well in my Stiller Predator with a #5 Brux. Anyway, the rounds I put out for the sighters looked good, so when I made the scope adjustment I went ahead and shot a 10 shot group which is what you see on the left side of the target. Ten shots in one ragged hole with a load not even developed for this rifle. I LOVE .308s. NOTHING is easier to get to shoot well.

The load is 45r R15 behind the 155r Lapua Scenar in Lapua brass. I didn't chrono it out of this barrel, but out of the 24" Brux I developed that load for it averaged 2865fps.

That is some fine shooting Josh. I am very happy with this .308 barrel, especially considering it's light contour (Bartlein 2b), and shooting a load that was developed for a completely different rifle. I have no doubt that when I develop a load specifically for this barrel it will do even better.

I built this rifle for a friend of mine. Its 6.25# all up and this are the first rounds fired out of the barrel with ammo loaded for a different rifle.
