An excellent example of what despots can do to an unarmed populace when they lose patience.

Amen brother. Reason to protect our Second Amendment rights. Still, having people not using their absolute power in a totally authoritarian government, and probably knowing that their fate would be as it was, gives hope that in our country with a history of gun ownership and extensive freedoms, there are many who serve in law enforcement who would be unwilling to take part in violence against fellow citizens who are not committing a crime. By electing officials who respect the Second Amendment at a local, state, and national level, we have a better chance of avoiding conflict in our country.

I live in a small east Texas town and the police have an armored assault vehicle

Kinda weird how the government thought all the little police departments needed full military assault vehicles. My little town of 4000 has an armored humvee

I see that horrible movie will not be shown. From what I have seen of it disgusts me. Possibly, the people who planned showing this had 2nd thoughts about facing a $ zillion law suit because advocating stuff like this and the availability of an abundance of "nut buckets" and liberal extremists who would act this stuff out. The term "nut buckets" is in " "'s because a very caring police officer used that term when he came to my and Mrs. Fyrewall's assistance when we called for assistance when this excessively nasty person took exception to what we thought was a reasonable request and threatened us. I frequently have bad thoughts of being barricaded in a portion of some big retail outlet by an armed raging nasty(s) and the local PD being unable to rescue us because their PD cruisers were shot up real bad.

Hopefully, "due process" will protect the innocents in the USA.

My little town received a gift from the military too. Armored vehicle for the swat team to ride in and shoot from.
Years back right after they formed the swat team, they raided a house and the team going in the back door shot up the team going in the front door. Put a couple in the hospital, thankfully they survived. Hopefully they have been training some.
The cops on the forum get butt hurt when I say that the cops will help take your guns. The majority of police officers are in urban areas. They do not think like the small town police and sheriffs and their chiefs are all democrats and believe confiscation is the way to go. I'm 70 miles north of Houston and believe me the chief of police in Houston is dreaming of the day confiscation becomes law. Even in my little town, I would bet half the officers would be ok with confiscation.
Police forces have changed, now in my town their primary job is to write as many tickets for as many BS reasons they can. Maybe the new 24 million dollar police station they are starting has something to do with that. They needed 5 acres, bought 50 acres to build it on!!
To top that off, our hospital is bankrupt and about to close.

To me the whole idea of this movie seems wrong. The liberals I have met in my rather small social pool all hate guns and hunting/meat eating even more. Have seen a few liberals at my local gun club once, but never twice. Honestly don't know what I would do if it came down to confiscation, just what I think I would do at my computer in the comfort of my home. Six of my fore fathers were revolutionary war soldiers, so maybe I have it in me to fight. I hunt for both food and fur. The idea of hunting and killing another human being both saddens and sickens me and I can't believe this movie could pass as entertainment.

At my age of 71, I am absolutely amazed at how mindsets have changed over my lifetime. I was born and raised in a "working class" and thus democratic leaning household in the 1950's . Dad was a construction worker and Mom was a secretary and we were middle class. What amazes me is that hunting and fishing and the great outdoors were the values of the "democratic" voting mentality at that time.
I bought my own second hand 20 gauge single shot at 14 years old with my paper route money from a used item store with no background check, no waiting period and not even a consenting adult....just my $8.
Something really radical happened in the '60s to the mindset and value system of the entire democratic blue collar party.
It goes to show me how the media and political movements can really radically change perceptions, values and mindsets of masses of people.
Can't help but wonder if people are just programable robots??

But the bad thing is half the democrat voters think that theyre right leaning because their father was a hardcore democrat so they wouldnt vote any other way. Thats whats so sad about it. I know a guy who when i asked him why he had an obama sign in his yard was he more for gay rights or abortions he got so mad he was spitting saying thats mcain!! Nra backs obama 110%!! I couldnt even laugh he was so misinformed. Calling me a commie and a socialist for even thinking of voting republican.
