It has gotten so bad lately of people(I will be polite here) creating a separate thread for EVERY item they are selling. And then bumping the ad daily.

Trust me that there are many, many people here who parse every letter of every word of every sentence of every paragraph of every ad! Your stuff will be seen. Please stop being a board hog.

If possible, having maybe 50-100 threads per page would help stop the daily bumps.

Let the discussion begin.
 
I understand the idea of separate posts for each item to better highlight each particular piece, rather than having potential buyers look at 'yet another reloading/gun room spring cleaning sale' thread and go 'meh, pass'.

On the other hand... (as a paying member myself) I would *love* to have a way to toggle a filter so that my daily/ new / unread posts display DOES NOT show every single freaking WTS/FS/WTB post. Unless I actually am in the mood to buy something, those posts just more visual noise / BS that I have to wade through to get to posts with actual content I want.

I think that would be a *lot* more valuable as a 'perk' for paying members than the ability to change your avatar or signature line :/

Oh we do have board hogs, but not in the classifieds.

Creating a separate thread for each item to be sold/traded allows the OP to follow the forum rules and delete ads once the item is sold without having to rework the ad each time.
Bumping the ad daily is acceptable (once per 24 hour period is the rule on some boards). Try 24 Campfire; guys there often have to bump an ad two to three times a day just so it can hover around page 3 or 4. I may bump my ad once a day or bump only when it gets shuffled back to page 3 or so. It all depends on how much activity the classifieds are getting at the time I am selling. It has also been brought up already but Gold Members are paying to be able to post as many ads as they need to.

Those "many people", if like me, only read the ads they are interested in. They only read CAREFULLY the ads for things they are about to 'pull the trigger on". Quite frankly, this forum has a much smaller ration of board hogs to useful information than any other of the shooting related forums. It is also moderated better than many (a fact that I am happy about). If not moderated to your satisfaction then you should maybe try some other forums a while to see just how good this one actually is.

And do ANY other of the forums in which you participate have that many threads showing at one time? That would make for a very difficult read.
