So I decided to screw the 12 twist 300 WSM onto my Bat M and do some tuning.
Yesterday I loaded up a few 185 Juggernauts at 64.0 grains and sighted the rifle in at 500 and then shot 3 onto paper that just barely went over 1”
Knowing the barrel I know it’ll shoot sub 1” easily at 500 Yards so today I loaded 4 each of 63.0 63.5 64.0 and 64.5 and took those back to the range this afternoon after work.
The conditions weren’t as good as yesterday’s I had a 5-8 mph headwind so instead of waiting out the wind I decided to shoot anyways. Well 16 rounds over 1.5 grain powder spread shot a 1.892 agg with one shot I pulled. Yea loaded it pushed the rifle back to the stop and bam!! I hit the trigger. So it went high taking a group to over 2”
For a rifle that shoots sub 2” with 4 different charges at 500 in my book just plain out hammers.
Here are the targets
