I sold my nightvision (Pulsar) and bought a thermal scope Hikmicro Stellar 50QL 3.0.
First off, propaganda videos on youtube show animals at 50-100 m away and yes at that distance everything is super clear and you can see even small details. The difference between a decent and a poor thermal scope can be seen at distances of 200-400m. I think the Stellar offers accetpable image quality at 200m. I feel confident while taking a shot at a fox at that distance. I use x 8 magnification.
Downside of thermal vs. nightvision is that I cannot sight it in on a sunny day. I have to wait till sunset in order to get a crisp view. It does hold zero pretty well (put on a 6.5 CM hunting rifle)
In Europe retail price for this does not exceed 4000EUR.
