Thinking of starting a YouTube Channel next year.

Erik Cortina

Team Lapua Brux Borden Captain
It would focus on reloading and all the steps that go with it. I would cover every step in detail and in a separate video. I would also do videos on shooting positions, techniques, as well as cover matches, target pulling, interview winners, etc.

I would also do videos on barrel chambering, bedding, reaming dies, building special tools for reloading, etc.

Another idea I have is to do actual testing on things we do such as brass weight sorting, bullet sorting, meplat trimming, pointing, etc and shoot them side by side at 1,000 yards to verify results.

What do you guys think?

It sounds like a ton of work, but I would really enjoy watching that kind of content.

Yes, I know, but I am in the process of building my new shop so that would help tremendously since it will be attached to my house. I would also show how I will set up the shop as well as how to do the concrete countertops, epoxy flooring, welding table, etc. I have so many projects to do that I figured I might as well document all of it and do a channel for you guys to watch and learn from. You might learn how to do it the right or wrong way, but you will learn! lol

that would great ! I hope you have some savage projects lined up ? joking,lol..hope you had a great Christmas and up coming new years..thank you for all help..Danny

Wow ! - Erik. Always enjoy your posts, would be great to get more info from you via YouTube. Let us know when you start.

Include up-front caveats like most reloading and BR books and manuals since safety issues are a litigation concern.

Actually, since it will be an informative channel, I will probably take up a Savage project or two just to see how they perform. I might do a Savage vs. Remington vs. full custom project to discuss the pros and cons of each.

I like checking the effectiveness of processes... I did that with bullet run out and saw zero score improvement for 3 hours of work. (But this is 30BR stuff at 100yds...) Haven't done it since... I'd like to see if brass sorting by weight matters within the same lot of Lapua brass. I suspect it doesn't, since so much weight is in the head... Likewise, flash hole reaming on non-drilled cases seems a wise thing, but on drilled cases, some Hall of Fame shooters say it opened up their groups...

Sounds like you got a LOT of expensive work ahead of you!

This sounds like a really good idea. Go for it Erik!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But where in the head? If the case head is thicker, then it would mean that powder capacity would be less because it is less deep than a case with thinner case head.

Fair enough! Check it! (I'm the guy standing behind you telling you to go ahead and throw that punch!!!)
