Thinking about buying a Lilja barrel

I've bought two rimfire barrels from them, (6 groove, tight bore, .215" bore diameter, .222" groove)and managed to get a shop tour when driving through the area.
Very, very good looking shop. Especially clean and organized.
Dan is a nice guy.
The barrels look great, slug great, and shoot great.

Machine beautifully but they are "harder" and machine sharply. I actually like them a lot. People seem to pass them over but they have been very good blanks in my limited experience. I have never noticed mucb difference in kreigers from bartlein or other blanks.

I used to machine almost exclusively with HSS and have finally made the change out of the dark ages to almost all inserts with the exception of crowning. Would like to try them again some day.

I don’t compete. I have several in small, medium and large calibers. Fine folks to work with, accurate barrels and they have also been some of the easiest smoothest barrels I’ve dealt when it comes to cleaning them.

I don’t know much about machining but the chamber I assisted with this week cut beautifully . 6 mm 4 groove. All the grooves indicated near perfect, the lands were just as close.

I've never used one on a competition/bench rifle but I have 4 of them on hunting rifles. They ALL shoot very good and clean very easy and you don't have to wait forever to get them... I will buy from them again without hesitation.

That's the way I like a barrel to cut, sharply, (less resulting burrs to deal with)
Also is one of the reason I like to use Kriegers, is due to the beautiful way they cut, and are not hard on tooling.
I keep wanting to try a Lothar Walther barrel but have heard horror stories on their Super Steel being so different and having to use different speeds and feeds than we are used to.

I certainly can not help with the comp barrels but I have 5-6 Lilja barrels 2 #3 and the rest Mountain Rifle or Montana dupe in .172, .224, .243, and .257, Mostly 3 groove. All shoot very tight and are super easy to clean.
Great folks to deal with as well.
