Thinking about a mobile target trailer ????

I am thinking about converting a 6x6 atv trailer into a target trailer. Cover all areas on the the trailer like tongue , wheels ,lights , etc with steel plate in case you hit it with s billet. I can put a stand in the trailer that would hold a gong and a another stand that would hold paper target stand. Then put some portable stands in the trailer were I could set out ever 100 yards. I don't have my own farm to target shoot on but with a trailer I can take it to different farms or land and set it out and have a nice range to shoot on. What do u think ??????? Marty's

Show us pictures when its done... it may spark someone else's interest as well.

Good ideal. Why put steel on the trailer. Just move it to a safe distance away or back to the parking area.

yep. I think I should put heavy steel in some of the key spots. reason being at a 1000 yards would not take much of a miss to hit a tire or wheel well , etc. If I reinforce the areas with steel plate then can shoot 50 cal and not worry about hitting the trailer in a bad spot. my plan is to have the targets in the trailer while i shoot at them. then just move target trailer to what ever yardage i want with the pickup truck. marty

Ewaugh...... like your idea on the target trailer. Maybe you can post some plans on this thread. GREAT IDEA ON THE BARREL FOR A LEAD BULLET / CATCHER. MARTY

You better use AR500 steel. Even at several hundred yards, a rifle bullet will go through ordinary steel plate like a hot knife through butter. I believe it will get expensive to shield the whole trailer and it's wheels. I believe you would be better off just using the trailer to haul the stands to the shooting location, take them off the trailer, and set them up. My son's company https://www.custommetalprod.com/ will do custom parts in AR500, and makes gong stands and other target stands that slide together without tools for a rapid setup.
