Things you've over heard

Talking with LGS owner yesterday. Guy came in and picked up a muzzeloader and then grabbed a pound of Ramshot Big Game powder and stuck them both on the counter. Owner asks what he planned on doing with the powder, shoot it in the muzzleloader? Guy replies "Yep, gonna load 150grains of it in the gun, why"? Owner, somewhat politely told him what would more than likely happen, including missing parts of his body. Guy replies that he had bought some powder with numbers on it, from another shop and they never said anything about it being dangerous!!
You that served get plenty of respect from me. From 1965 when I kicked a protester in the shin at LAX (I was 11) to today. Maybe it comes from being a Gold Star Son and also having a stepdad that served. Thanks to all of you.

Back in 1906 I got my first deer rifle. It was a 30-06. I seem to remember that when I zeroed it at 25 yards with the standard 150 grain SP it was very close at 100 yards. This was actually printed on the 1" grid targets that our company gave out a couple weeks before the opening of deer season. The standard scope back then was a Weaver K4 in low mounts.
Are you 130+ years old?? First deer in 1906?? Did folks wear suits to hunt back then like they did when they went to the baseball game. Ahhh 1906, the days of Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders.

My dad was talking with a pool salesman years ago and he asked about rust. Salesman said "rust actually makes steel stronger."
A guy comes to a body shop to get an estimate on some quarter panel rust
Guy: I got a rusty spot on the quarter panel I would like to get fixed.
Shop guy: Sir, after looking at your problem, I am going to have to put a new quarter panel on to fix it.
Guy: It is just a little rusty spot. Can't you just grind it off and put some bondo on it?
Shop guy: Sir, the only thing holding the quarter panel on now is the termites are holding hands.

That would be 1895. Don't remember that. ;)

Couple of weeks ago: 2 guys shooting pistol, one an obvious new shooter. They're both shooting at one target; shortly after a target change where they replaced the target and backer, the more experienced guy was shooting. The new guy wat the back bench, talking to himself, but loud enough for me to overhear it:

"Hey where's the target? Oh, never mind, I found it. Hey, I shot pretty good! Except all of those are your shots..."
