Things I'm really good at:
Getting to the range
Things I'm not so good at:
Setting up the rest and rear bag
Picking the right caliber
Loading the correct charge
Picking the right bullet
Setting the neck tension correctly
Using the correct primer
Reading the flags correctly
Pulling the trigger at the correct time
Scoring well enough to win a match

What about you?

Frankie,
Pretty much the same for me. Some days are better than others. :)

Watching your results for the LT30 powder test, I am going to test some in the 30BRS soon.

Really good at - reading groundhog behavior - :) Making an accurate shot, well, there was a time but at 76, let's just say I ain't the man I was in younger days. Still when I'm in the zone, I do fairly well out to 300 yards and under.;)

Getting a little better at reading mirage - wind is still an issue - therefore would have to characterize as "not good at" but working on it.

Really bad at - shooting off the bench - just hate it and don't have the patience. Thankfully, I have developed proven and consistent loads so load development is rare for me however the need is starting to rear "it's ugly head" again because of the shortage of components I've used for years, and I may have to develop some alternate loads.

Welcome to my nightmare!

I'm good at getting to the range. It's only @ 15 ft. from my "mancave" reloading/gun room. BUT, for all the other attributes well we will see.

Things I'm not so good at:

Setting up the rest and rear bag - average
Picking the right caliber - average
Loading the correct charge - good
Picking the right bullet - good
Setting the neck tension correctly - O K
Using the correct primer - O K
Reading the flags correctly - Never read a flag so I guess I'm a total loser at that
Pulling the trigger at the correct time - O K
Scoring well enough to win a match - Up for discussion
Adding Bench Manners - Not so good

I think some people were born to be shooters. I read an article years ago about a guy from somewhere in Eastern Europe he won a gold metal at the Olmpics with a pistol. A year later he lost his right hand from a grenade. He practiced with his left hand. Went back to the Olmpics and won a gold metal with his left hand. Article below on it.

I look at most of Erik Cortena's videos. Besides having extreme skill at reading wind they look like they dedicate their life to the sport and spend a huge amount of money on it. They have to be very analytical and smart about every detail. Being willing to learn from other great shooters helps.

Interesting article.

I'm a fairly gifted philosopher.
I can create quirky analogies.
Jesus loves me, and so does my dog.
I behave good enough that my wife tolerates me.
My shooting skills are better than most folks who don't shoot.

I put waaayy too much importance on stuff that doesn't matter.

Being "that guy" is one of my strong points. :D Just ask the match director.

I compete in local RFBR matches, and I only have to remember to load the rifle and ammo. Everything else stays in the bed of the truck, and I live about 2 miles from the range.

Reading the wind flags is the weakest link for me.

I try to have a good time everytime, some are better times than others. LOL

I hate the typical rear bags you can buy. If you haven't tried this already, I highly recommend a cheap rice filled sock. It's much smaller and more squeezable than a canvas bag. It allows me to squeeze or release it to get micro adjustments in elevation.
