Had a rancher give me a yell after a fellow rancher said call this guy, he does a nice job on coyotes.
Nice to get referals like that!
New rancher said coyotes all over so can you do something for me. Of course I said "sure thing". After I sent him pics he said come out anytime you can. Done deal.
We were walking to a spot he said they usually are and maybe 200 yds from the truck one coyote stands up in the low grass (scanning we didn't see its heat signal as it was to low.) We set up fast with our stools/sticks and as I spot it I realize Im about to swing across pals back so I said its yours and I swing back to my left and see one standing down the 2 track maybe 200yds out. I drop it and look back to my pal then I swing back to the one I just shot and theres another and a lot closer standing broadside probably wondering what that Thwaap sound was. I drop it as well and say to my pal they are all over there. I see 3 others come up from the drainage and they are already past 400 yds out of dodge. Pal didn't get his shot, but that how things go.
Both females, top is mangy, bottom was a thick/heavy female with spots of mange on all legs, neither were rubbed though.
