The trouble with one gun for all purposes!

I shoot a BAT model B with Terry Leonard stock with weight system. This is a fine rifle and I have many barrels for it. I shoot a .22 PPC-short, a 6 PPC, a 6mm Dasher, and a .30 BR. It will make weight in the sporter class and it handles all of the cases well. It is a RB/Lp/RE and it ejects all of the above cases. My problem is that it always seems to have the wrong barrel when I get ready to shoot. Recently, I have decided to confine my shooting to matches to which I can drive and stay at home. This limits me to score matches and a monthly 600 yard match. Should I try to concentrate on one type of match....say 600 yard, or should I try to get another platform to gain more flexibility? I don't really expect too many answers but am just thinking aloud. Good shooting...James

James, I have a BAT B that I have several barrels fitted for. I also have several other bench guns, but they are set up somewhat dedicated. I'm always changing those barrels!

I've used to do the switch barrel boogie, but I think you're better served by a dedicated gun for each discipline you're serious about. The very least would be a point blank group/score gun and a 600/1000 gun.

Jack of all trades, master of none comes to mind......

I want to be as competitive as possible when I sit down at the bench too.

I'm there to shoot and have fun, but the real goal is to win.

You can fish out of a bath tub, but it ain't the best platform........

Dusty, thanks for the compliment. Now if you would just tell those with which I compete :o. It sounds like you had a bunch on the run up at St. Louis.....great shooting. James
