>>>>>The SECRET.... 6.5 CAROLINA LOAD<<<<<<

The 6.5 CAROLINA LOAD is the load that was given to me from the Guy in Sportsman's Warehouse in Columbia, SC last week. He was just a customer, and I've been trying to find him to thank him, but I've had no success so far.

But his load has helped me so much that I thought I would pass it on to those who want to try it...and it's NOT H4350.

I'm not sure if I should post it here or not, so if anyone is interested in TRYING IT, then please PM me... thanks... Dan

PS... I named it The 6.5 CAROLINA LOAD just for the fun of it... and well... it did come from the Carolinas... I guess. I won't know where it came from until the Mystery Man shows up... until then... it's... The Carolina Load....LOL.

The first 3 shots tightly clover leafed and the fourth shot was a flyer, about 1/4" to the left...I didn't have anymore rounds then... and it's repeatable... and I'm only shooting a Cabela's Savage 12 FV 6.5 Creedmoor.

Sorry Guys... I didn't mean to offend anyone, it's just that I'm excited about a load that actually shoots as good or better than my 20 Vartarg.
If I have made a mess of things, then please tell me how to fix it... thanks...Dan

You Guys are probably right... sorry ... My Bad.

I'll go ahead and post it here, and I'm sure that several will then be able to bash me around as if it's nothing special or secret at all... which it probably isn't ... but it was special to be. Sorry for all the trouble... I learned a lesson here. thanks...Dan

The 6.5 CAROLINA LOAD is the load that was given to me from the Guy in Sportsman's Warehouse in Columbia, SC last week. He was just a customer, and I've been trying to find him to thank him, but I've had no success so far.

That Guy told me that he was shooting small primers in Lapua brass, but he didn't say what caliber or primer brand. He was shooting 140 gr bullets (forgot which bullet )for that one hole 3 shot group target that he had in his wallet that he showed me, but he said that he also buys the bulk blems 140 at Midway that still shoot in the 1's and 2's regularly. He said the secret powder was 44.3 grs of H4831SC. I started scratching my head a little bit because of not hearing this used by many in a 6.5 caliber. When I got home I loaded up 3 rounds of each for my Creedmoor... 43.3, 43.7, 44.0, and 44.3 with 140 Hornady SST bullets, Fed 210 primers, seated to 2.800 oval.

The first 3 loads were okay, but when I hit the 44.3, they all touched together like a clover leaf... a small clover leaf. I had 4 rnds of that one and it became a flyer, which was 1/4" to the left of the leaf hole. I thought it was a fluke so I load up some more and they shot the same little hole cluster. I even tried a few more grains of powder and even changed seating depth for testing, but keep coming back to the 44.3 of H4831SC and 2.800. It's not tuned to make a bug hole yet, but it might in the near future... after all... what can I expect from a Cabela's Savage 12 FV 6.5 Creedmoor...LOL.

Now they might even let me be in the Secret Creedmoor Club.

Mind you now... I have NOT tried H4350 yet, but i have been through nearly 2 lbs of R17 and have NOT even come close to consistent groups like this.

Please let me know how The 6.5 Carolina Load works for you.... thanks...Dan

PS... not sure what the speed is yet because my chrony is in the shop... and the speed doesn't matter right now anyways, since I feel like I could shoot flies at 100 yds.

Sorry again for all the trouble. It's hard being me...LOL.

Dan, late this afternoon, I headed to the range.

Rem 700 Varmint, 6.5 creed, 8-25 Leupold
Starline brass
Fed 210
140g Hornady eldx seated to touch the lands
44.3g of 4831 SC
Shot three, three shot groups that were 1/4" or less
load was trying to shoot all bullets in a hole

Will set up chronograph next trip out

Thanks for the load! I would not normally try that powder in the 6.5 creed

I have H4831 not worried at all. Ill stick to RL17 as it is not the most accurate but accurate enough and much better in could weather over H4831. One day I have to get another 6.5 creed.

Tell me more about your 6x47 loads with H4831SC please. I’m using H4350 now with 105 Hybrids
Bill Bowers

Slower than H4350 in my 28” Bartlein, but H4831SC is very consistent.
2.750” oal Berger 105 BTT

Going to try 4831SC in the Savage 12 6.5 Creedmoor I just bought from Cabellas for $402!
