The misunderstood .40 S&W

I have an FN Compact 40. I've never experienced anything like "snappy" recoil. Mine shoots very nice. When I use the extended magazine, it shoots very very nice. I guess my ammunition is not hot enough?

Let me stick my 40 S&W about 6" in front of your eye and pull the trigger. If it doesn't kill you, I will hand your my SIG and let you do it to me...
Any volunteers for that experiment?

...lots of PD users cannot shoot it effectively especially females.......can't stop what you can't hit. Big migration back to 9mm.

Plenty of officers can't shoot the 9mm effectively as well.

The eye isn’t the place to humainly put an animal down. It sounds like you are saying the cartridge is weak. Draw an imaginary cross from each horn to each eye and shoot the center of the X. Why did you keep shooting the eye when it clearly wasn’t working? Never mind - I don’t need the answer to that question.

It was ear..not eye...I miss typed...and I did try the center of your X...

I’ve never had the technique I was taught fail. I guess the stars were aligned against you. But I still don’t think it indicated the .40 is an incapable caliber.
