Ring tops are lapped on the bar for a nice fit, then cleaned with acetone, mold release wax applied to all surfaces except the contact area, the screws given a light coat of thin lube and the rig tops are buttered up with epoxy:
The ring tops are snugged down to equalize the side gaps but not so much as to push too much epoxy out. We want a thickness of epoxy so it isn't prone to chipping:
After a couple hours, the semi hardened excess will be peeled off and a bit of clean up done with vinegar and QTips. The tops will come off after about 24 hrs.
