the dreaded 6.5 Creedmoore for F Class?

I can vouch for the Creedmoor to compete with any caliber at mid range F open. I'm shooting a Borden BRMXD, 30" Krieger, McMillan kestros, 1.5 oz jewel and Nightforce BR, weighing in at 21lbs 15 oz. The Creedmoor is very easy to tune and keep in tune with a very large tune window. I'll be willing to debate this with any of the Creed haters out there because I've been shooting a 6.5 Creedmoor for about 6 years now.

I previously ran H414 thru a30" Krieger and pushed a 140 Berger hybrid 3080 fps but that load burnt the throat out at 1200 rounds. Currently loading H4350 at 2860 fps which I've found to be the most consistent. Yep I'll keep my Creedmoor.

My Savage model 12 Palma in 223 kicks ass at midrange. Shoots little itty bitty groups. But when it comes to the long lines, big heavy 7mm or 30 cal. bullets rule the range.

I don’t think anyone is going to say that the 6.5s suck at 600.

But, drag being a square law thing in distance, not linear, a whoooolllleeee lot changes between 600 and 1,000.

Someone is going to ask about the latest high BC 6.5 bullet. Gentlemen, that same profile could be scaled up to 7mm, 30, or whatever and have a better BC.

It all comes down to finding the sweet spot of BC and gun handling given the rules. So, F-Open allows 22 pounds. The 7s are the sweet spot for most people. There are some folks that can drive a 300 WSM.

Unless there is a change in the rules or a disruptive technology that aids in gun handling, that’s the way that it’s going to stay...

What is F class?
It comes in right after E -Class...The Devil made me do it.

I is a Rifle type of rifle match shot Prone from 300 to 1000 yards . The Rifle are HV Barrel with Scopes

F/TR Rifle is in .308 or .223 with Bi-Pods in most cases.

You know how the saying goes.

"Even the sun shines on a dogs AZZ some days"

Sorry couldn't resist, good shooting!

F Open match at 600 yds. 3 strings, 20 for record each. high end action and barrel, high end stock, professionally built. his score speaks for itself. 600/46x
Using a Borden BRMXD Krieger chambered in the almighty 6.5 Creedmoor, I shot a 599 in F open yesterday. I can't see ant other choice.
