(Note: if you provided a recent $100.00 donation and are not on this list, please notify Forum Boss)

I also want to acknowledge the other 1500 or so Forum members who have donated at least once in the past decade (ten years). Over the last six (6) months roughly 300 individuals have donated. That works out to about 1% of Forum members. Counting all donations since June 2015, the average donation is $23.64.

The Future... Donations Are More Important than Ever...
Your Forum Boss has been working on this site now for over 12 years. I just turned sixty (60) years old, so that's 20% of my life. I normally work seven days a week on the site, averaging 60+ hours in front of a computer every week. This is starting to take a physical toll.

As the Forum has grown, the amount of time to administer PMs and emails and help requests has increased significantly. We really need to hire help. Efforts to enlist "intern" part-timers have not worked so well. As soon as the "interns" get trained, they move on.

In any case... if we can raise donations to a significant level, this could allow us to hire a Director for the Forum. With 30,000+ Forum members, it makes sense to have a salaried employee. If just 10% of our Forum members were to donate $20/year that would allow us to hire a full-time staffer to administer the Forum and provide regular support to members.

That will help me concentrate on content, product testing, match reports and the other important features that AccurateShooter.com provides. And it will also help me stay alive longer... which is objective numero uno.

Boss, I have a suggestion, consider the following,

allow non contributors to access up to 6 times before blocked - this allows new to get interested

upon contribution of an annual $10.00 they will be unblocked and have access,

all present members will be given 6 entries before block then must contribute $10.00 also,

those who have already contributed get credit towards the $10/year based on donations made in 2015/6
there is not a shooter that does not have $10.00

I don't believe anyone should be blocked. That would never grow the site.
I suggest a place where we can give products to the site to be bid on winning bid sends the money to you . And winner and the giver both get credit The giver pays shipping unless Pryor arrangements are listed . Larry

Larry I was thinking like you. We could just list the item and have it like a silent auction people could reply with a bid. The seller could start and end the bidding at a set time.

I have several things I would like to give and pay the postage. All we got to do is get the Boss on board . Larry

I would certainly pay at least 20.00 a year for access to this site

I do not think the suggestions of stuff to sell etc, is a good one for ONE REASON, the Boss does not need anything else to have to keep up with and report about.

a $10 tab per year is a gimmy, if you got stuff to get rid of YOU sell it and send the $ to the Boss!!!

He needs not more work, don't suggest putting it on him to do your job of supporting the sight.

He said he wanted to hire help . What better way . Then I would be the one who gets the credit
The way thing grow is to get more people involved.

you guys got to think , what is the Boss living off, how does he pay his bills,

hiring a bunch of people just depletes the funds. get him support financially to carry the page, maybe one or two guys, but THINK-
30.000 members, $10 bucks each and you are able to support him,, let him have his surgery as needed, and keep it going for all of us and those to come.

this is not a toy, this is a living thing that needs feeding, stop dieting.

If I read it right he is 60 years old and has been dolng it 8 years.
With that in mind. Why shouldn't he make it a business to make a profit?
My Ida he could hire help and pay them a commission. Who knows how much but could be big figures for both.
Or he could charge to use the site and go broke. Larry

But I can see he is doing it for love.
My idea would let him make a good profit and hire help.
And your against that. Why?

It already is a business and is his full time job running it.
Look at the whole website (it is not just the forum board).
Look at all the paid advertising spots.
Look at the 100's of Articles and 1000's of daily bulletin's.
How do you think it all gets here and gets done ..... hint = Boss
How does he pay for the website expenses.... the sponsored advertising and donations
He's obviously looking to expand to full time help, and is looking for more donations to do it.
Look around the whole site and broaden your horizon to see how it is all being run and being paid for.

My advice is you better read what he said .
It's nothing like you said . Larry

I appreciate the suggestions (and the positive spirit with which they are offered). Donovan has it right... We produce more content per month than three print magazines combined AND we run a Forum, which is becoming increasingly time consuming. Because of these obligations I'm running "double-shifts" and my Doctors say it's too much. With 30,000 members, we should be able to generate enough annual donations to pay for a staffer that can master the tech side of the Forum plus provide user support... that is my hope.

Charge $10 a year. Check out how the WSJ works. They provide access to some material but not other material (like the forum?) you have to pay for.

Scott
