The $30 powder thrower

I have several of those Lee POS throwers, one set for each load, if you slick them up a little and set the tension correctly, they throw extruded powder very consistently.
Some years back while trying to figure out a powder baffle I discovered that the plastic caps off the 1 pounders fit perfectly like they were made for it, just drilled three 1/4 " holes evenly spread in a triangle pattern and push gently into the bottom of the hopper in a "cup" fashion, with the cap liner removed of course. I think they do help, my buddy now has 3D printer and made me one to test drive that I've only used once so far but I think it was an improvement over the cap. I do think however, these thrower's work best on the full side.

My rcbs uniflow is not sensitive to hopper fill levels with the metal baffle installed.
I don’t know if Lee offers these.

There ya go! I might bore a hole in the top of the hopper and set a satern funnel in it to easily top off and keep the level in the top 1/4.

Never owned the Lee.
Have a Belding&Mull that is a heck of a measure. IMR4198, H1000 is amazing how close it drops. Most would think I was blowing smoke.
I have read how accurate the lee dispenser is. Bought one, it was all over the map. Ran about 3 pounds of powder thru it and it never got any better. Thankfully i could send it back, which is what I did

One of the plastic ones? I bought my first 3 some months back and all are spot on. I wonder if there is an old vs new with these things. I have to order 2 more so will see how they stand up.

I run Autodrums on two different progressives, one is just a little Loadmaster dedicated to 22 Hornet/K-Hornet/218 Bee, but the other is on my tuned up 550C loading 308-family precision loads. The consistency over the Dillon with extruded powders is amazing. I found a nice wide node for one rifle and load in the center of that, with maybe .1gr deviation total, and I'm happy. For F-class and such I'm using my Sartorius, but the Lee measures are fantastic with stick powders for general loading.

I just switched from varget to h4350 in my plastic pos. With the varget I was so consistently dead on it wasnt even funny. With the 4350 i was dead on 5x and then 2x would either go .1 above or below and never more than .1 Didn't felt a kernel interfere with the swipe. I noticed that the variance increased once the reservoir dropped below 3/4. It is still faster to dump and re-throw than trickle up. Next time I am going to try screwing on a full 1 lb canister instead of using the reservoir.
