Wow never heard of stapling the mouth shut. Defanging them is easier. You can release the snake after training and the next set of fangs move in in about a week.
my wife needs that training for shoes!! how many freaking shoes does someone need??? guns are another issue entirely...We train amateur, and I have a professional trainer. We have high end hunt test dogs. We do yearly snake training. Basically you get a rattler, staple its mouth shut, put it out in the feild then walk up on it with a dog on a leash and shock collar on turned all the way up. When the dog goes to sniff it, and or the snake strikes, light up the dog with the collar. They learn quick and dont want nothing to do with that sob. Refresh their memory every year.
Most dogs will come unglued and freak out, yelp, and not want anything to do with the snake. Once they see it again, they are headed the other way. Works fairly well.
Don't know how you would give them the correct amount unless it was made for a dog....Would EpiPen work on a dog bitten by a snake to prevent swelling?
They make an Epi pen and a Epi Pen jr. Regular Epi Pen is for patients greater than 30kg. or 66 pounds. Jr. is for patients 15 to 30 kg. 33 to 66 pounds. Ask your vet would be my best answer.Don't know how you would give them the correct amount unless it was made for a dog....
Welcome to Texas! If you ever make it up to the Panhandle, give me a buzz, I'll set you up for some sod poodle extermination.Thank you all for the suggestions. I’m negotiating with a seller for a house in Kerrville, Tx. I have two small dogs I need to protect. I appreciate the input!
