Texas Deregulates Suppressors, or Did It?

I really wouldn't bet on this but I suspect that the constitutional wizards have looked this
over from one end to the other and have determined that the Federal Government does
not have the constitutional right to regulate the ownership of said suppressor. I think this is headed to the SCOTUS and the Federal Government may lose. The question is, who
wants to be first in line for the test. It may be all about Federal Government overstepping their bounds.

I wish that was the case. I used to do environmental work and each time I saw a regulation changed due to a court case, things got more complicated because the feds would not relinquish any power. The Texas law does appear to be designed to create a challenge in court. But in order to prevent a cascade of states following Texas's lead, the courts either won't hear it or Texas will lose.

I think it's more of an in your face move to let the Federal Government know that we don't agree with the NFA altogether. Things are going to change in a big way soon. With election audit challenges happening the landscape could change a lot sooner rather than later. Any way you cut it 2022 midterms will be a bloodbath for democrats and their authoritarian approach to our freedoms.
In the mean time I wouldn't get to rambunctious about defying Federal regulations.
When is trump’s reinstatement ceremony?

I would love to shoot suppressed, and so would my (failing) hearing, but for now the cost and complexity of buying a suppressor far outweighs the cost of ear protectors.
Huh. A supressor obviates the need for ear protection? That's news to me, unless perhaps if you're strictly shooting rimfire or 25 ACP. I'd be delighted to learn I'm misinformed.

AZ did something similar over a decade ago and all it’s good for is a felony charge for the unwary. It basically says that NFA items manufactured in AZ are exempt from federal law and even has language that says the Supreme Court’s interpretation of the commerce clause doesn’t apply. The problem is AZ’s definition of prohibited weapons includes SBRs and suppressors, but excepts those items if they’re possessed/transferred in accordance with federal law. So one statute says don’t comply with the feds, but the other statute says if you don’t comply with the feds then you’re in violation of state law.

i, sadly, think you're in for a major shock at those midterms.... don't expect much movement for the conservatives. As much as you guys hate how things are...the more liberal group are very pleased with the oppression as it is and think there should be more. They also form the majority when speaking in terms of large city centers and are pushing further and further into more rural areas. Liberal will be the way of the "future". Personally...i feel like both sides are shit and the 2 party system is just about the worst setup we could deal with. But no 3rd party will EVER win a US election.
