The same animal but different, thoughts? Should i have tore down the Rem mag and turned it into the 7mm PRC and kept the 300 PRC barrel on? The 7mm Rem mag is a police model that was made for only two years and shoots alright. I havent been able to shoot the 7 Prc yet Which would you take hunting ? 162gr eldx in the Rem mag and 175gr eldx in the 7mm PRC

Both will get the job done. For me it would come down to the barrel length, the shorter one would be easier to use from a box stand or walking through thick stuff.

Either one will get the job done as far as hunting, I’d take whatever one you shoot the best. Heaven knows we have plenty of 7mm cartridges. I hunt a lot with a 7 Saum, love it for short actions. When the 7PRC came out I wasn’t gonna drink the kool aid but after learning a bit about it I ordered everything and will have one myself some time in the fall. If your shooting long VLD type bullets it makes sense, much better case length than the 7 mag, because it’s shorter you can seat longer and not eat up your case capacity. They thought this one out imo, imagine the guys who have Remingtons, Winchesters, Rugers or whatever chambered in 7 mag, 300 mag and limited as to how far out they can seat their bullets. A barrel change and now you’re able to seat those VLDS out where they belong. The PRC doesn’t kick them out any faster than the 7 mag but it makes more sense, at least I think it does.

I‘ve had multiple 7 mags, it’s killer. Always has been.

For hunting I'd bring whichever one has a scope that has 3 or 4 power available, then switch it to a BDL floorplate.

Was finally able to sight in my 22" 7mm prc build. After having issues sighting in i removed the Ec tuner brake. I got the following group. Now time to see if my muzzle threads are not aligned properly with the bore or what is going on. This was factory 180gr eldm
