Everyone,
I'll try to post the scores tonight. My day job has kept me quite busy this week. I've spent the last couple of nights entering and checking the data (name, addresses, NRA #'s, scores, etc.) for 55 competitors to send it to the NRA. I've got to check the scores against the current NRA National Records list, fill out National Record paperwork, and complete all the required NRA paperwork. It's going to take me several more evenings to complete it all, but I'll try and get the report and scores out tonight.
I've heard now that a few people (not necessarily associated with this forum or topic) are saying that I shouldn't shoot the match, that scores should have been posted within 24 hours, and that they didn't "feel" the match was run very well. Wow... What I can say is that there are many folks (many of whom didn't shoot) who spent multiple weekends and many hours preparing the range, the targets, the carriers, the awards, the dinner. I really thought that, aside from a few minutes during the rain on Sunday, the match was run very smoothly, started on time, and ended in a very timely manner. Everyone seemed to have a very good time at the dinner and the awards ceremony and many said that they were making this an annual "must attend" event.
I know that in our world of "real-time" data and instant access, a few days seems terrible for posting scores and providing a match report. I know how set up a system just like the NRA or CMP for "live" results if several folks would like to come to the match, not shoot, and enter and check all the data during the match... Anyone? Sorry for the rant, but I feel like a one legged man in a butt kicking contest right now!
I am certainly open to constructive criticism and will make every effort to insure that any problems are corrected in the future. In order to prevent an openly negative topic as a result of this post, please PM or email me with any concerns or issues you had at or about the match.
Thanks,
Doug
