When using "Tempilaq" for annealing, do you still place the cases in about 1" of water ,then tip over when the inside of the neck painted with "Tempilaq" changes color ?
It's my understanding that one paints the inside of the case mouth/neck with the 650 * Tempilaq, apply heat, making sure not to direct any flame to the inside of the case mouth/neck, just the outside. When the Tempilaq changes color the brass has reached 650 *.Road_Clam said:I use a 650F stik and set my torch heat, then simply count seconds until the stick draws a line on the brass. I use my cordless drill with a deep 1/2" socket to rotate the casing in the heat usually about 4- 5 seconds, then dump the casing into a bucket of water to cool. Works slick.
